Limo Idling at Hydrant

66 5th Ave
December 8, 2012 - 7:34pm

Limo had actually been idling just ahead of the hydrant in a no-parking zone when a private car (SUV) pulled up asked him to move back into the hydrant so he could park in the no-parking zone (just behind a car that had just been ticketed). Driver of private car put a "Fire Official" sign on dashboard and then left on foot with a friend headed in the direction of the Barclays Center.

2.5 hours later: still there. Still no ticket.

No tickets 2+ hours later

Despite 311 report, and police at two times stopping inexplicably at corner of 5th Ave & St. Marks with lights flashing, no tickets to any of the vehicles which have been blatantly illegaly parked, blocking hydrants, idling for over 2 hours.

More limos idling; no tickets

In addition to they guy who was has been idling (now with his lights on) for 2+ hours (first in a no-parking zone; now at a fire hydrant at 66 5th ave at NYFD's request), the hydrant at St. Marks Ave & 5th Ave is now occupied by a limo. Several police cars have driven by all 3 vehicles - once they see the NYFD placard on the private vehicle, they move on. The limos turn their headlights on whenever police get near them, and police move on. Complaint# C-1-1808308840.
