This is NOT CLOSED or RESOLVED

Priority: -> normal
State: -> Closed/unresolved
Client: -> Public

There has been NO NYC DOT-approved changes to use Dean St between 6th Ave and Vanderbilt; this is a clear attempt to cover up violating of protocols. FCRC are not using flaggers & there are NO NEW changes in place from delivering the previous 8 floors of mods & FCRC made the turn. If there is a need to change truck route, the community should have been notified of any changes IN ADVANCE. Dean St between 6th Ave & Vanderbilt is MORE BLOCKED than 6th Ave, because double parking by FDNY and the Church that makes using the commuter bike lane extremely dangerous! Trucks can’t turn north on Carlton Ave and is can unlikely Vanderbilt!
The ESD can observe DAILY the mod delivery every morning! IF any route changes the law requires the shortest distance to a truck route which is right on 6th Ave then right on Bergen the right on Flatbush!
Why can OTHER 18 wheelers use 6th no problems but now FCRC can’t? They even turn right on Pacific with 670 Pacific blocking 1 lane & can still get thru.
2015 05 29 mod 18 wheeler left on 6th Ave issue no flaggers

Response from ESD

On May 26, the following response was received from ESD (sorry for the delayed posting here):

Dear Resident,

As 6th Avenue has been blocked by double parking and other obstructions, there are limited egress options for the wide load trucks leaving the B2 site.    Drivers of wide load trucks have been advised to leave via Dean until the problem on 6th Avenue has been corrected.  The developer is working with NYCDOT and NYPD to determine the most optimum truck route until 6th can remain clear. I hope this information has been helpful. If you have additional questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best,

Nicole

6th Ave. planned closure

Hi Nicole,

thanks for your answer. Yesterday you sent out a notice that 6th Ave. is a planned closure that has now been extended another week or so. Recently there has been a large increase in construction related trucks using Dean St. as a truck route, residents have been promised many times throughout the years that this would not happen.

Is your response complete enough to close all of these incident reports that you have referenced?

thanks,
Jennifer
Dean St. resident

Response from ESD

The following response was received from Nicole Jordan of ESD on Friday, May 29:

Dear Jennifer,

ESD has worked with the developer and the NYPD to resolve the issue on Sixth Avenue. Drivers  of wide load trucks will use Sixth Avenue as long as it is clear of obstructions. I hope this information has been helpful. If you have additional questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best,

Nicole
