Last Night was yet another great example of crazy loud noise well past 11:00 p.m. We called the emergency number and of course, the noise only continued. This morning by 7:00 a.m. the walls and floors were already shaking which brings me to another story...
A few weeks back we noticed that our Kitchen cabinets were coming out of the wall. They were barely hanging on with very long brick screws. We emptied all of our cabinets and had someone come in the next day to do some repair work. Unfortunately, the repair work was not up to the task of the 5 point rictor scale earthquakes we experience on a fairly regular basis. An entire kitchen cabinet section came crashing down on my wife, who miraculously was uninjured. However we did lose all of our plates, cups, glassware and wedding china.
I wasn't going to report this until I heard that someone else on this block had a similar experience. The fact of the matter is, had my wife been holding our daughter at the time, one or both of them could have been seriously injured.
I'm frustrated and disgusted at the absolute lack of response from the city, and in the past year I have had respiratory problems, and now suddenly my daughter does too. I'm not expert enough to know whether that is related, but the last year of extensive close range construction in our front yards has brought nothing good with it.
