Building Shaking @ 618 Dean st

618 Dean st between Carlton and Vanderbilt
August 30, 2012 - 7:40am

I was awoken at 7am this morning to our entire building shaking. Glasses were rattling and pictures on the wall were askew. As I typed my 311 complaint I could feel my desk vibrating like a low rumble. The yellow front loader sized jackhammer was within 75' of my front windows. I fear for the integrity/stability of my building. Not to mention water mains and other pipes. Damage done by this sort of repeated tremor will not be immediately obvious but could impact us in coming months/years. Are there other solutions to the project that do not entail such a level of vibration to the neighborhood? Hand operated jackhammers perhaps?

618 Dean st Vibration

OK So the machine doing this is a Giant DEERE tractor. I have video of them using it to simply break up the sidewalk. This job can be don with a small jackhammer and won't disturb the neighborhood or shake buildings at their foundation. PLease advise where to upload video.

NOw it's worse

YOu can send your lieutenant back now. it's worse than ever.
