Late Night Beeping and Garbage Removal

Carlton Avenue between Dean & Pacific Streets
July 26, 2011 - 9:23am

This is an ongoing problem, 4 or 5 nights a week between 3:30 and 5:00 a.m. generally a company called Action Environmental comes by to empty the dumpster with loud beeping, engines running, dumpsters clanking etc. Nearly every week night (if not all of them).

I've reported this incident to 311 on three separate occasions and have the confirmation numbers at home which I can enter another time, as I don't have them with me now.

Late night work

Dean btwn Carlton and Vanderbilt
July 14, 2011 - 12:07am

The construction work continues late into the night and early morning hours. The noise from the construction vehicles and workers continually disrupts my sleep. It's impossible to sleep with the windows open, which subsequently requires constant use of my air conditioner.

Video and photography show dump trucks lining Pacific Street between 6th and Carlton this morning

Video and photographs showing dump trucks lining Pacific Street between 6th and Carlton Avenues were attached to incident reports submitted to this website this morning.

The two videos, titled "5:45 am Atlantic Yards/FCR no flaggers + illegal idling," and the photographs show a line of trucks waiting underneath the 170 unit Newswalk building to enter one of the Barclays Center truck entrances at Pacific Street and 6th Avenue.

The trucks are lining up on the wrong block of Pacific Street.  The video and photography illustrates an ongoing problem long brought to the attention of ESDC and FCRC.  If the protocols outlined in the Barclays Center Delivery Truck Rules and Requirements for the use of a flagger at Carlton Avenue and Pacific Street are not kept, the public Pacific Street between Carlton and 6th Avenues quickly becomes an extension of the construction site.  The goal of the use of a flagger in this location is to avoid trucks lining up on this block.

"Action" garbage pickup

Carlton bet. Dean and Pacific
July 6, 2011 - 1:30am

Garbage pickup truck from a company called "Action" tried to back up into the parking lot on the corner of Pacific and Carlton, to great noise. When it couldn't get in that way, it backed up along Carlton and entered in the middle of the block. The truck idled while its crew got the canistered with garbage ready and then loudly emptied the canisters and replaced them. Huge amount of noise for about twenty minutes in the middle of the night.
This morning, 7/7, the same company truck did its pickup at 5:30AM, with the same amount of noise, though they knew how to enter the lot this time.

Idling Truck Left Without Driver

Pacific Street between 6th and Carlton
July 5, 2011 - 8:15am

A truck was left idling in a newly created no parking zone created as a temporary construction measure on Pacific west of the Carlton Avenue intersection.  The truck was parked directly under residences.

The driver left the truck to visit the former Weinstein building.  He left the truck running while he was gone.  I asked at the gate for him.  He did not arrive for over five more minutes.

The label on the truck said USDOT 480940

On the door of the truck it said:  ADT  Aquifer drilling and testing
