Barclays load in blocks Dean Street at night
In order to load in to loading docks, arena employees stopped traffic including a public bus for minutes. There appeared to be a back-up in the loading docks and no space for the truck to pull in.

I believe the date of this incident report is correct, but unfortunately in this particular case I cannot confirm it.

Truck forced to back down Dean Street into Vanderbilt intersection
A truck related to one of the businesses on Dean Street was forced to back half a block down Dean Street into the Vanderbilt AVenue intersection. Ultimately it backed into the south bound lanes of Vanderbilt.
Sidewalk on both sides of Pacific eliminated due to construction
The north sidewalk on Pacific Street east of 6th Avenue is still closed while construction work continues on the LIRR rail yard. The original 2006 plan was for it to have been completed before the arena opened. It seems to me the reopening is again delayed relative to the schedule promised more recently, but I will have to check.

Street network changes for block 1129 construction starting November 20
Today, Greenland Forest City Partners announced changes to the street network around block 1129, bounded by Carlton Avenue, Dean Street, Vanderbilt Avenue and Pacific Street. The changes relate to the installation of a construction fence in preparation for construction of buildings at 535 Carlton Avenue and 550 Vanderbilt Avenue.
Construction sign left on street (removing parking spot) beyond period of its usefulness
A construction sign announcing the street closure for the installation of the arena roof crane was left on Dean Street between 4th and 5th beyond the period the closure took place. The closure announced on the sign took place over the weekend from 10/10 to 10/12. The photo is taken Thursday evening, the 16th.
The sign was left in a parking space. I believe the installation of the construction signs is left to the contractor/developer.

Def Jam concert jams traffic lane, bicycle lane and blocks sidewalk
The narrowed traffic lane and the bicycle lane on Dean Street near the arena and B2 construction was blocked to facilitate VIP cars at the end of the Def Jam concert. It was an organized effort. A woman with a clipboard was stopping the cars in the traffic and and helping the VIPS load. She told me the cars were for the artists. Near the end of the video that follows you can also see people with promotional signs standing across the street from the arena. They told me they worked for Def Jam. They were right next to a house.
