Vibrations felt in residential building as heavy equipment works in LIRR Vanderbilt rail yard
Residents @ 700 Pacific St’s 171 unit residential building feel vibrations over many hours as heavy equipment operates in Barclays Arena - Vanderbilt rail yard reconfiguration project. Residents infer that the accelerated working hours 6am to 3am 7 days a week is contributing to the increased number of heavy earth movers operating in the rail yard. see pictures in previous report below.

2012-02-22 LIRR maintenance truck parks on sidewalk & reduces safety for pedestrians because the sidewalk on this peculiar NE corner of 6th Ave & Pacific is extremely narrow with the gate & access ramp into the rail yard is always wide open & makes pedestrians step into the active Pacific St, this even occurs when no trucks park on the sidewalk. LIRR Vanderbilt earth mover advances from official staging area between Vanderbilt & Carlton while NYC Sanitation truck is picking up on south side of Pacific St clearly the LIRR Vanderbilt earth mover cannot ‘fit’ to successfully pass but advances and blocks traffic. Traffic brings attention to congestion by honking.

2012-02-21 LIRR truck must drive on sidewalk to park inside MTP sand barriers & illegally idles & also no red standing zone to eat lunch inside the truck. The MTP barriers are buffer that helps pedestrian’s safely navigate the construction traffic.
