Trucks exiting via non-designated routes
There have recently been many sightings of trucks leaving the Atlantic Yards site through residential streets not designated as truck routes. Although ESDC initially claimed the infractions to be isolated incidents, subsequent incident reports filed with AYW showed that this was not so. A summary of these sightings was published by AYW on August 25, 2011.
This forum will post updates to the problem of ensuring better compliance with use of designated truck routes.
Noise related to nighttime use of staging areas
Although no construction is taking place on the eastern end of the Atlantic Yards footprint, contractors performing night time work move in and out of block 1129 (between Carlton Avenue, Vanderbilt Avenue, Dean Street and Pacific Street) with equipment and materials. Noise from these activities began to be reported in July 2001 (see 172), and in September of 2011, a representative from Forest City Ratner explained to AYW that night time work requiring access to the block 1129 staging area was expected through August 2012.
